LineMax Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Dinesh R, the individual developer of LineMax ("LineMax", "we", "us", "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the LineMax mobile app (the "App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Please also read our Privacy Policy at Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

1. What LineMax is — and what it is not

LineMax is a cosmetic photo-tracking tool. It helps you take consistent, comparable photos of your hairline and hair (front, left temple, right temple, crown) so you can see visual changes over time yourself.

LineMax is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice. Specifically, LineMax does not:

• diagnose, detect, measure, or classify hair loss or any medical condition;
• provide a hair-loss stage, score, or density measurement;
• recommend, prescribe, or evaluate any treatment, medication, or product;
• replace a consultation with a doctor, dermatologist, or other qualified healthcare professional.

Any "treatment log" or notes in the App are your own personal records. We do not review, verify, or endorse anything you log. Photo comparisons depend on lighting, angle, hair styling, camera, and other factors, and may not reflect actual changes.

If you are concerned about hair loss or your health, see a qualified healthcare professional. Never start, stop, or change a treatment based on the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

• You can use the core App without an account. An account is only needed for optional cloud backup.
• If you create an account, you must give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Tell us promptly at support@linemax.online if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

4. Your photos and content

• You own your photos and notes ("Your Content").
• You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, process, back up, and display Your Content only to provide the App's features to you (for example, syncing your photos when you turn on cloud backup). This permission ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for any copy we must keep by law or that remains briefly in routine backups before being deleted.
• We do not sell Your Content. We do not use your photos for advertising, marketing, facial recognition, identification, or building profiles of you, and we do not share them with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers.
• Only photograph yourself. Do not upload photos of anyone else without their clear permission, and never upload photos of anyone under 18.
• You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any content you add to the App.

5. Local storage, cloud backup, and data loss

• By default, your photos and data are stored on your device. If you delete the App, lose or reset your device, or clear the App's data without cloud backup turned on, your photos may be permanently lost.
• Cloud backup is optional and only works when you sign in and turn it on.
• We take reasonable steps to protect and preserve your data, but we do not guarantee that data will never be lost or corrupted. Keep your own copies of anything important.

6. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time inside the App (Profile → Cloud Backup → Delete Account). Deleting your account deletes your cloud-backed-up data, as described in our Privacy Policy. Photos stored only on your device stay there until you delete them or the App.

Deleting your account or the App does not cancel a paid subscription. See Section 7.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Free and Pro. LineMax offers a free version with limited features and an optional paid subscription ("LineMax Pro") that unlocks additional features.

Plans. LineMax Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, currently:

• Weekly: US$4.99 per week
• Yearly: US$39.99 per year

Prices may differ by country or region, may include or exclude taxes, and may change. The price shown in the App Store or Google Play at checkout is the price you pay.

Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. We do not process or see your payment card details.

Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

Cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

Free trials and offers. If we offer a free trial or promotional price, its terms will be shown before you buy. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where the store's rules allow it.

Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled by them under their own policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. For App Store purchases, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, use Google Play's refund process.

Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Apple or Google will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.

Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the App or change devices, use Restore Purchases in the App to restore an active subscription.

Referral rewards and promotions. If we offer referral rewards or promotions, they are subject to the terms shown with them. They have no cash value and may end at any time. We may withhold or remove rewards obtained through misuse, fake accounts, or fraud.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the App for anything illegal, harmful, or abusive;
• photograph or upload images of other people without their permission, or of anyone under 18;
• copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works from the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
• tamper with, bypass, or try to unlock paid features without paying, or interfere with our servers, security, or other users' data;
• access or try to access another person's account or data;
• use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the App or its services;
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms.

9. Our intellectual property

The App, including its design, software, text, graphics, and the LineMax name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, under these Terms and the app store's usage rules.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google, RevenueCat (subscription management), and Supabase (account and cloud backup infrastructure). Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

11. Changes to the App and these Terms

• We may update, change, or discontinue features of the App at any time.
• We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will let you know in the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that data will never be lost, or that photo comparisons will be accurate or show any particular result.

THE APP DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT (see Section 1).

Some places do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, photos, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App;
• we are not liable for any decision you make about your health, appearance, or treatments, whether or not you used the App;
• our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for LineMax Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US$50.

These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate and hold us harmless from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or content you upload that you did not have the right to use (for example, photos of other people taken without their permission).

15. Termination

You can stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. Sections 1, 4 (ownership), 5, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17 continue to apply after termination.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection law where you live, the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or the App.

Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us at support@linemax.online so we can try to resolve it informally.

17. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

1. Parties. These Terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
2. License. Your license to use the App is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing, where applicable).
3. Maintenance and support. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for any maintenance and support of the App. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
4. Warranty. To the extent any warranty is not effectively disclaimed, we, not Apple, are responsible for it. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your use of it, including (a) product liability claims, (b) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
7. Legal compliance. You confirm that (a) you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (b) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
8. Developer contact. Questions, complaints, or claims about the App should be sent to us at the contact details in Section 19.
9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms (for example, your mobile carrier's terms) when using the App.
10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

18. Google Play

If you downloaded the App from Google Play, your purchase and use are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. If these Terms conflict with Google Play's terms on purchases, billing, or refunds, Google Play's terms apply to those topics.
